NSW: Anti-Israeli protesters march on US Consulate

Thousands of Palestinian supporters have marched in the Sydney CBD in protest against the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip .. bringing traffic in many streets to a standstill.
The rally started at 4.30pm (AEDT) at Town Hall with a few hundred people .. and has has ballooned into a march to Martin Place and the US Consulate .. which spans at least three city blocks.
The protesters are chanting anti-Israeli and anti-American slogans .. with some bystanders have been seen joining the march.
A strong police presence is guiding the protesters to Martin Place and rush-hour traffic has been reduced to a standstill.
A number of Islamic organisations in Australia have come out to denounce Israel's actions .. and some are calling on Canberra to oppose the military action.
